Brave Heart -Children in Need

Our mission is dedicated to enhancing the lives of children undergoing emotional trauma from being removed due to abuse or neglect. Through active participation in community projects and initiatives addressing the challenges faced by abused children, we aim to make a meaningful impact. Inspired by the idea of tangible reminders that instill hope, we provide programs that offer encouragement, comfort, and a sense of optimism as children navigate uncertain circumstances.

Capital Area CASA Association

The mission of Capital Area Court Appointed Special Advocate (CASA) Association is to advocate for timely placement of children in permanent, safe and stable homes. In 1992, a group of concerned and dedicated individuals established Capital Area CASA Association in East Baton Rouge Parish as a private, non-profit organization. CASA recruits, screens, trains, and supervises community volunteers to serve as advocates for abused and neglected children.

Rain Will Bring Flowers Foundation is a non-profit that was founded in 2023 by Jordan and Lisa Tabor, two parents who lost their 15-year-old son, Owen Tabor, to suicide. Their mission is to prevent youth suicide through awareness, education, and support.

Blue Star Moms

Our mission is to continue in the tradition of the Blue Star Mothers of America by answering the call of families in need, promoting patriotism through education, and to bring to the forefront the sacrifices of our military personnel and their families. We hope to promote awareness and foster support of our troops through the sponsorship and participation in community projects, patriotic rallies, parades and veterans' ceremonies. In a nutshell, we are a support through service organization. We serve because our children serve.

Maddie's Footprints

The vision of Maddie’s Footprints is to help families who have experienced miscarriages, stillbirths or the loss of an infant. We help lead these families in the right direction when they are in need of information and/or counseling. We also offer these families financial assistance for end-of-life expenses and/or medical expenses that can be overwhelming during their difficult time.

CALEF

The Capital Area Law Enforcement Foundation was formed in 2016 after the deaths and shootings of law enforcement officers in Baton Rouge. What was the worst day in law enforcement history in Baton Rouge became a mission for CALEF. Officers died that day because of the quality of bulletproof vests they were wearing. CALEF made it its number one goal in raising money for the best bulletproof vests on the market. Since 2016 we have raised in excess of 2 million dollars and have gifted over 60 local law enforcement agencies with over 2,000 vests. Our problem is that ALL bulletproof vests expire after 5 years and process starts over. In these days of limited budgets, CALEF assists law enforcement agencies with the purchase of vests. We recently had a EBRSO deputy it in the middle of his chest with a bullet. The Angel Armor vest absolutely saved his life.
